Setup issues with TP LINK Deco - pls help!

I'm a newbie here so please bear with me.

I've entered my IPv4 & IPv6 settings on the  my TP Link Deco
Advanced > IPv4  > Internet Connection Type
also on  Advanced > IPv6 > Internet Connection Type

On my PC, I receive the message " All good!  This device is using NextDNS with this  configuration"

However on my Android phone, I receive the following:

Now matter what changes I make, I cannot get it working on my phone.

Can anyone help

What setting do you have configured in the phone directly? Android 9 onwards allows for Private DNS (DoT) and there are some settings to check. The default setting is "Automatic" and the phone will attempt to use DoT if the provided DNS allows it. I suspect the phone is detecting NextDNS but cannot determine the configuration ID--which would match the message you're seeing.

You could try setting it to "Off" and try again. I suspect it will work correctly then. However, only queries made while at home on your WiFi will be filtered.

On my Galaxy running Android 12,  I have it set to "Private DNS provider hostname" and I specify the DoT info there.

Settings > Connecfions > More connecfion settings > Private DNS.

This ensures my queries are always going to NextDNS regardless of network.

Also, check the browser you are using on your phone. For example, Brave supports DoH and can be configured too.

Settings > Brave Shields & privacy > Use private DNS > On > Choose another provider
