Odd device name from iOS device with profile

I have an iOS device with nextDNS profile installed; the profile has exception for home network SSID. Home network DNS is through nextDNS CLI. This device reports an odd UUID-looking name when on home network. (first image)

Where is this name coming from and is there a way to report the correct device name?

Bonus round: I have one other iOS device that appears as generic device hash (Device #AB123) even though others report correctly.

Device names are configured on-device and on router via dhcp/dsnmasq for both devices.

    Same here....
    Using the CLI and strange device names in the log would like to see a fix

    @M_van_Amelsvoort,

    This problem long since disappeared for me.  It may have been related in (mis)configuraiton of dnsmasq on my router,  but I think some conflict between Apple Profile, NextDNS client apps, and the CLI (and maybe dnsmasq, etc?) is more likely.

    You can track down which devices are not reporting names by hovering over the reported name and checking the local IP address in the logs.

    Failing that, you can also restart your router and machines running the CLI. Dnsmasq or other local services be involved. The source of these errors might be propagated via ARP so restarting network hardware may help.
