Not Connected to Lowest Server

Hi,

When I go to ping.nextdns.io, I saw that I don't connect to lowest server,

In my case, instead of "vultar-tlv" which have 8ms, I connected to "anexia-tlv" which have 63ms, why?

    According to the pic, you are connecting to NextDNS with anycast. How have you setup NextDNS on your device(s)?

      I connect with OPNsense through "DNS over TLS".

      Before I used ChatGPT, I put these servers,

      2a07:a8c1:: - Port 853

      2a07:a8c0:: - Port 853

      45.90.30.0 - Port 853

      45.90.28.0 - Port 853

       

      After I checked with ChatGPT, I put servers of vultr tlv, now it's better, most of the time it's connect to vultr tlv instead of anexia-tlv.

    That being said, you can try to force the usage of other servers instead of the anycast ones.
    Take a look at

    on how-to force a especific server, from those listed on ping ou diag.

    You can prepend those names with ipv4- or ipv6- to force the usage of IPv4 or IPv6, respectivily, as stated in https://help.nextdns.io/t/60htdz3 (but don't follow that solution, just take a look on the naming conventions).

       I have 2 threads here for the same problem. (by mistake)

      I already solved it with ChatGPT, I put the closest server in DoH settings, I don't know if it's the best solution but it's work.

      I hear not the first time that 

       said:
      everybody left the ship

       And it's scare me,
      From one side, I don't need more features then that, 
      From second side, I pay for this service, so I think the minimum is get some help/service/support.

      Please ignore what Rodrigo said, sometimes there are posters that deliberately spread lies about NextDNS, here in the forums. You can spot them because they post the same message multiple times.

      I'm not advertising another company services, I'm a pissed off customer that don't get any support from a company I'm client since feb/2021! I'm doing this in the hope I get NextDNS's attention and they take some action to solve my problem (and everyone's else).

       

      I was a happy NextDNS customer till I got into some issues and there was nobody there to help me solve it.
      The problem was partially solved setting a fixed server (anycast1) via DoH (because anycast2 is sending requests across the Atlantic Ocean, from Brazil to Amsterdam).
      On Android I must use a third party app to set it, because android uses DoT natively and I wasn't able to set a custom profile over DoT/DoQ. Using the regular DoT setup I'm pointed to ultralow1, 4~5 fold the latency of the anycast1 server.

       

      My plan will expire on 18/feb, I'm still figuring it out if will renew it due to the lack of support, despite the great features and single digit latency of anycast1.

       

      After a long time without an answer and no signs of activity from NextDNS on any post on the forum, I started to think they left the ship, hopping that they come across to prove the otherwise and solve everyone's issues.
      These connectivity issues are recurring ones, in the past they interacted on the forum to solve it, but lately they are missing. If you have any contact with the NextDNS, please, kindly ask them to do their job and take a look forum to offer their customer a little support.

      But it's not only Rodrigo, it's bunch of people that I saw that say it.
      The service can be the BEST one as long as you pay and it works, until you need some help, then service quality is measure. (I see this like this)
