How do I set a static DNS entry?

I need to set a static DNS entry for a hostname and IP that are external. How do I do that?

Have you tried using a rewrite?

Adam Hill I have not played with rewrites. I was looking for a section in config or setup to add entries. I'll take a look at rewrites. Seems like this should be a 'simple' thing to do. It sure was in pihole.

I am having a similar request.

As I have several aliases in my local intranet, especially e.g. „fritz.box“ for cable router or „office-printer“ pointing to a 192.168.0.x/32 address that my clients need to use. Is it currently possible to manually add a dns entry to a local address (kind a static address or rewrite)? The use case is, that certain apps like Fritz Apps are expecting this alias to be present in local lan, but with ios nextdns profile installed, the local router‘s dns is skipped.
