NextDNS-team launches dns0.eu - A free public DNS
Just saw NextDNS-team launching dns0.eu on Twitter:
https://twitter.com/NextDNS/status/1622913693133545474
My initial thoughts...
- They say: "We are introducing something never seen before in a public DNS — we call it ZERO. MASSIVELY increase the catch rate for malicious domains".
Isn't this what Quad9 have had for years in their public DNS?! - Isn't EU also working on a similar secure DNS-resolver for all member states, or is this it?!
- Will this mean even less development and focus on NextDNS?
- So now the small NextDNS-team will have to help all citizens within EU fixing bad routing and high latency for free?
My routing seems very bad with 108 ms response times...
PING zero.dns0.eu (91.210.58.118) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 91.210.58.118 (91.210.58.118): icmp_seq=1 ttl=46 time=108 ms
64 bytes from 91.210.58.118 (91.210.58.118): icmp_seq=2 ttl=46 time=108 ms
64 bytes from 91.210.58.118 (91.210.58.118): icmp_seq=3 ttl=46 time=108 ms
64 bytes from 91.210.58.118 (91.210.58.118): icmp_seq=4 ttl=46 time=108 ms
I'm still hopeful and will keep using NextDNS
What are your thoughts?!

Could you please send a traceroute to 91.210.58.118 to contact@dns0.eu?

I wish NextDNS could comment on this.
