Why does my address go to America where I have set Europe in the settings?
I'm not sure what you mean by your question. The settings is where your log data is to be stored, it has no baring on location of IP address.

Could you show your screenshots so people can see your IP, where your DNS requests go? What DNS does it show in your test results?

NextDNS uses an anycast network, meaning your DNS queries are automatically routed to the nearest or lowest-latency server, regardless of your regional settings.
Even if you select Europe, you might connect to a server in the Americas if network conditions (like routing or ISP paths) make it faster.
Here are some links that might help you further:
https://test.nextdns.io/ - Quickly verifies if your device is using NextDNS, showing your active configuration profile, client IP, protocol (DoH, DoT, DoQ), and connection status ("ok" means properly configured).
https://dns.nextdns.io/info - Returns a JSON response with details about your DNS query, including the detected client IP, configuration used, and whether the request was blocked or allowed. Useful for debugging routing and filtering behavior.
https://router.nextdns.io/ - Helps identify the optimal NextDNS resolver IP for your location by measuring latency to nearby anycast points of presence (PoPs). Intended for manual configuration on routers or devices.
https://ping.nextdns.io/ - Displays latency (ping) to various NextDNS global servers, highlighting the lowest-latency options (in bold) and currently selected server (white box). Helps assess performance and routing efficiency.
To improve server selection:
Enable "Use Ultra-Low Latency Network" in the NextDNS app.
Try toggling Anonymized EDNS Client Subnet in your NextDNS settings.
Use DoT/DoH with specific endpoints (e.g.,
zepto-frafor Frankfurt) if you need a fixed location.
Note: From my understanding, server choice is based on performance, not geography — you cannot manually lock a region. (but I could be incorrect)
