iPhone and iPad using wrong profiles

Hi all, yesterday I set up and configured NextDNS on several of my devices, including my iPad and iPhone with each device having its own profile. I've noticed that when I leave the house and return, or toggle WiFi off/on, on both my iPhone & iPad, they connect to the Router profile instead of their own profiles. I believe the only way to force them back onto their profile is to change the DNS from automatic to manual and add that profile's DNS IP addresses. Is this normal behavior?

    Go to settings - general vpn and device management - 

    make sure that restrictions and proxies set to nextdns configuration profile. Not the nextdns app. 
    Its working just fine. I have the paid version.

       , do you have mulple profiles like I do? One for the router, one for each device? - I only have the app installed, as I removed the configuration profile. The NextDNS app profile is checked.

    you might see different. Because of the apple private.
