What is a profile for?
I'm using DoH on Firefox.
I understand that choosing NextDNS on the provider list enables DoH without a profile. I just wanted to understand: what is a profile for? What are the implications of not using one?

No profile, no filtering, no control, no logs. Only a public DNS.

A profile allows you to customize content blocking to your own preferences, rather than just being secure DNS. You can set up blocklists to prevent ads and trackers, or have family-friendly content, or allow certain hosts that might otherwise be blocked for whatever reason. You also get analytics on what's being accessed, what's being blocked, etc. and can even identify specific devices if done right.
