Need Help!! - Dynamic Switch Profile
Hi all,
I’m a freelancer with a team of two developers, and I primarily get most of my projects through Upwork. I’m planning to hire a salesperson to handle Upwork bidding, and I’ll be providing her with a laptop. However, I want to restrict access to Upwork only when she’s on my office network. When she’s working from home or connected to any other network, I want her to be unable to access Upwork via the laptop.
I understand how to configure NextDNS on the laptop and can set up multiple profiles (one that blocks Upwork and one that doesn’t), but I'm unsure about how to switch between these profiles.
My questions are:
- Is it possible to configure NextDNS in such a way that I can switch between profiles easily, so Upwork is blocked on certain networks (like at home) but accessible on the office network?
- If not, are there any other ways to achieve this restriction, either with NextDNS or through other methods?

I'd also LOVE a simple way to do this.
Best I've found so far is using the MacOS app and pasting in a profile ID when I need to switch. Ideally the app can allow easily switching between them.

But back to your question — what's your goal? Why the restriction, given that she can use another device to access Upwork?

Create separate profiles, with each saving logs to different locations. You can make each profile have different TLDs blocked, Parental Contols, (helps even if no kids), Blocklists, Allowlists & Denylists. I run 4 very different profiles simultaneously, for my 4 different devices, and never have a problem. You can switch between the profiles & devices any time you want, but I don't believe you can assign the profiles to change devices, or change running times on her device, at specific times, on their own. I may be wrong tho. The Pro's here or Staff may know.
