NextDNS on android Phone

Hello everyone,

I am starting to use NextDNS on my android smartphone.
One way to use it is:
- Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced Settings → Private DNS
- Select the Private DNS Provider Hostname option.
- Enter XXXXX.dns.nextdns.io and press Save.

1. I wanted to know if this configuration works on wifi AND the mobile network?
2. how to know if it is the dns of NextDNS which are used?
Thanks for your help.

    I answer myself 😁
With this configuration, the mobile network and wifi use NextDNS.
    I tested this with:

jeremielac yeah, it works with both as you said and filters the entire device so any apps that have ads won't be a problem. As an additional recommendation, if you don't use Facebook you should block graph.facebook.com as it's a source of ads on Android apps.

You can alternatively use the Lite versions of Facebook and Messenger. That also let's you block the problematic domain and use their services.

You can also use https://browserleaks.com/ip and run the DNS leak test. Then click on the DNS IP address and you should see NextDNS as your provider (hostname).
