Chatrooms/Chat with strangers/video chat are NOT blocked from parental controls (dating)- how to block accsess?

Luna   I didn’t know about that,  because the biggest problem I have now is the video chatting that became so trendy now in Sweden. Video chatting  is the new land of pedophiles . 

Luna then we should maybe move to Control-D because they have an option there you can add manually as many oisd lists as you want . I will think about moving to control-D even though I like nextdns

I can't understand why these old, unmaintained source lists are not replaced by more up-to-date ones, there are good lists on the net that would make sense:

Adult - OISD NSFW
Gambling - HaGeZi Gambling
Piracy - HaGeZi Anti Piracy
Dating - ShadowWhisperer Dating

The native tracker lists are also very old and can be replaced by current ones, such as the HaGeZi Native Tracker Lists.

Other providers such as AdGuard DNS and ControlD offer much more up-to-date services.

shirel  It's nice to meet you, too  .  I just thought that i would have more options in ControlD to block all those video chatting but no i just tried today nothing there i could do  . There is no such a filter that could block video chatting sites . I think the issue with these sites is that they have such varying degrees of unsuitability. Most of these sites aren’t categorized as nudity/adult and pornography but as social network or internet communication . So leaving Nextdns and moving/finding  other providers will not solve my problem at all

1) block all TLDs (blocks the whole of the web) (using the Chrome extension - it's easier, as without it's one by one)

2) whitelist the sites you want (and their dependencies). Takes a bit of tweaking but it's a solid, independent of blocklists, solution

shirel works on Android if you have an OS which supports multiple profiles, like GrapheneOS – don't know about Google's version of Android.

DNS can only be configured by the Admin, so the intended user uses a secondary profile.

On Windows I don't recommend NextDNS. Coldturkey Pro works for me, and supports user customization.

If you choose that option please ask me for configuration details, as it can be easy to bypass if you don't check some boxes.

Google Android 13, maybe use Freedom App? If you want to use my setup, look into whether your phone supports user profiles. But, really, installing a GrapheneOS is no bother if you have the hardware (a Pixel phone, for example)

Speed Extra info on dependencies:

When you visit a website, often the site needs to access other websites to work properly. (For example, protonmail.com may need protonmail.ch, even though protonmail.com is still the address shown on your address bar).

To add those dependencies:

- Create a 2nd user profile (you can do it from within your existing NextDNS account)

- set up your device's DNS to match this new profile

- activate logs on NextDNS

- visit the site you want to allowlist and monitor which websites are logged

- these are the websites you need to allow as well. Conveniently, you can do it straight from the log page.

For ease of use, I suggest bookmarking the two profiles and that way it becomes easier to repeat the process in the future.
