Want to block facebook app but not messaging

Hello, So I need to block the Facebook App but not messenger. I did parental control that says it blocks fb but not messenger. The fb app is still able to be accessed, searched, and able to comment on post. I then put in Facebook to the denied list and in allow list I put messenger and Facebookmessenger.com and the Facebook app is still available and the messenger app is now all messed up. Are there certain domains that I need to list in the denied list and the allow list to access only messenger? I tried to uninstall the Facebook app but they keep installing it and have been looking at a bunch of inappropriate images on the fb app. I'm a confused mom at this point.
