Starting Point For Absolute Beginner?

The how-to's, guides, FAQs on here are too technical, using undefined acronyms and concepts. Is there a step-by-step guide for a typical home wifi network? I get that there are a lot of options and interactions between different system elements, but I just need a starting point. I think my ISP does not support IPv6 if that helps. Looking for basic steps, like: log in to router, paste this number here, do x to verify it's working, etc.

    It seems what I was looking for was in the application portal itself. The help page did not indicate that. But it should be there anyways.
