Profile switch based on IP-Address
I have a few domains exposed to the web over a Tunnel and a reverse proxy (Pangolin) with the goal not to directly expose ports from my home network to the public.
To save unnecessary hops over the internet, I would like to reach them also internally without the reverse proxy on the VPS (I run a second proxy at home).
So I set up a copy of my profile with URL rewrites to my internal Reverse Proxy IP to spare out the way ever the VPS. You can call it a hacky way to achieve splitDNS.
On my Android devices I set up a Tasker profile to automatically switch between the 2 Private DNS profiles depending on my connection to my home WiFi. This solution is working ok but it' s not perfect and does not work for e.g. my sons IPhone or Laptops.
Proposal:
It would be nice to have an automatic profile switch based in the IP-Address/WiFi-Connection of the device.
This proposal would be for all NextDNS apps (perhaps combined with a revival of the Android App), since I'm sure NextDNS is mostly used by techies that are also interested in or using a similar homelab setup with Let's Encrypt in place, like me.
