Failover WAN

I want to configure NextDNS to accept a secondary IP address for when my Failover WAN takes over.

Using Unifi USG3P

Comcast Primary WAN with Dynamic DNS (using DYNDNS for auto updating).

AT&T Secondary WAN using NextDNS servers.

There is no option in the NextDNS settings for me to add a second IP address for my secondary WAN. Does anyone know if there is a way to activate this feature?

Hello, I was looking for an answer to this same issue.  Did you find a solution?    The only solution I have come up with would need two accounts and have to manage them both.  That would not be fun. :(

    Thank you

Michael No need for an extra account, only another configuration profile. The new configuration profile will allow for the other IP link to be made.

R P M  Thank you for the reply.  The issue I found with this solution and with my possible one is each profile is using a different DNS IP.   For example ISP1 is using nextdns x.x.x.5 and ISP2 is using nextdns x.x.x.8.  So if ISP1 goes down and everything automatically switches to IPS2 the clients on IPS1 would still be using the x.x.x.5 DNS and not the one linked to x.x.x.8.

Michael Ah, right, that is a problem. So ideally you’d need same dns IP for each network.
I suppose you could keep generating new configurations until you end up being on the same DNS IPs. I’ve no idea how many times that could take or if there is some sort of restriction if one existing config (on your account) has the IPs already it won’t be seen again.
