Degree of Anonymity?

I'm using a Mac Mini (Ventura).  I've been using NordVPN and recently installed NextDNS.  I'm a basic user, but I'm educable -- does NextDNS give me complete anonymity if used without the VPN?

If it doesn't can someone please recommend a source for step-by-step setup instructions that will increase my privacy?

Thank you very much.

Michael

I should have added that my browser of choice is Firefox.  Thank you.

There is a huge difference between "increased privacy" and "complete anonymity". I doubt that "complete anonymity" exist for the average person in today internet.

NextDNS only handle the DNS, your ISP and the services you use can see and learn a lot of what you do. A serious VPN might help but you can't be sure what they do behind the scenes.

You can take a look at the link from my profile, I didn't update it for some time but most of it I think it's still relevant.

You can also search for more information but you need to make your own conclusions as people have different opinions.

Thank you very much for replying.  It seems to me that if I'm using a VPN I have confidence in (e.g., Nord or Proton), I really don't need NextDNS, as far as hiding my identity, right?.

I use uBlock Origin, Firefox's anti-tracking settings,  and I have BitDefender on my Mac -- although I have to admit this all sounds like I'm paranoid.  Then again, we're all products of the times we're living in.

Ironically, the more you configure to increase your privacy, the more unique your browser fingerprint might become…

Thank you VERY MUCH for the information and for suggesting Cover Your Tracks [EFF]; I've just installed Privacy Badger on Firefox and Edge. It doesn't look like Privacy Badger is available for iOS.

Your observation that the more effort I make to create invisibility, the more specific my browser becomes is interesting and very helpful.

So, along with Firefox's settings, I have Privacy Badger, NordVPN, and NextDNS...(I also have BitDefender Anti-Virus on my Mac) do I really need all three?

Do you have a recommendation for iOS devices?  I have both NordVPN and NextDNS installed on my iPhone and iPad, along with Edge and Firefox browsers (I really don't like Safari.)

Again, thank you --- your help is very much appreciated.
