Google Play changes for VPN apps

I am curious if the changes to the Play store will affect NextDNS?

    The article answers your question.

"Labdaoui suggests Blokada v6, which launched in June, should not be affected because it does filtering in the cloud without violating Google's device policies. But other apps may not be so fortunate."

NextDNS is a service that filters queries in the cloud and not locally so judging by the rules and the article, it shouldn't do anything to the app.

There is some questions about this change.
NextDNS app in Android uses the VPN service to redirect all the DNS requests to it. The "VPN" is only used localy.

The new term states VPNs that disrupt the ads, and if that includes local VPN apps, then NextDNS is affected. If is only for apps that provide external connections, then NextDNS is fine.

But...... the terms appear to be in general - so, all VPN apps should be affected.
