Random "This device is using NextDNS with no configuration."

I have nextdns configured on my router, and I have my IP (which is dynamic, but in practice never changes) linked in NextDNS.

All the sudden, a few days ago, NextDNS stopped filtering. My IP address did not change. I did not make any configuration changes. I didn't update any software.

I see "This device is using NextDNS with no configuration" in the config page. However, the linked IP has a green check, and https://test.nextdns.io/ shows the exact same IP, and so does link-ip.nextdns.io/...

Diag: https://nextdns.io/diag/6035ce60-254a-11ed-bc77-311cb6efc285

Looks like someone else also ran into this bug: https://help.nextdns.io/t/y4hwhw5/suddenly-this-device-is-using-nextdns-with-no-configuration

@nextdns @NextDNS_Network this is unfortunately still a bug, and I never saw a resolution in the other thread--it just randomly fixed itself.

Would you please take a look?

Seems to be a current problem with DNS-over-TLS. With DNS-over-HTTPS everything is fine and the configuration is applied correctly.

Specifically, with device names à la John--Router-123456.dns.nextdns.io, the configuration fails. As a workaround, use only the pure DNS address.

Koboldchen good guess, but in my situation, I was using linked-ip DNS.

things eventually resolved themselves, but honestly this whole experience is awful. Why keep paying if y'all aren't going to respond to bugs, just ignore them?

At least if I host this myself, I can fix things when they break.
