Which VPN? If their client support custom DoH/DoT then NextDNS will work automatically. Even without it, browsers on the desktop all have customizable DoH which can be set to NextDNS. On Android, WireGuard and OpenVPN client don't interfere with OS DoT config.

NextDNS is an DNS, not VPN service.

It could really complement the service, you could offer it as a subscriber-only service

Maintaining a VPN service requires a vastly different infrastructure from DNS. One can just use a VPN service of their choice and use NextDNS with it.

Maintaining a VPN is very different compared to a DNS service, and it costs more. I don't think they will do this, and if they do then it will cost a lot more than their current membership

Shub for me (and hopefully for others) this would be a No-Go and will end in leaving NextDNS.

      DynamicNotSlow Yep.

If the VPN becomes a requirement, it would be terrible. I already have Surfshark, which I am happy with. I would not use this as a VPN service.
