nextdns-cli on uxg lite working?

Hi all,

For the past few days I’ve been using NextDNS on my UniFi UXG Lite via a DNS stamp configured under Encrypted DNS, and so far everything is working great.

I’m also using local DNS records on the UXG Lite to resolve my local clients, which is working as expected.

This setup is running in a home network used by my family, so stability and reliability are important.

Currently, my UXG Lite is running firmware version 4.4.6.

Now I’d like to experiment with installing nextdns-cli directly on the UXG Lite, mainly to get better visibility of individual devices in the NextDNS logs.

Before doing so, I have a few questions:

1. Is the UXG Lite (still) supported for running nextdns-cli on firmware 4.4.6?

2. What should I do with my current Encrypted DNS configuration?

   • Should I leave it as it is, or remove it when using nextdns-cli?

3. Will my local DNS records on the UXG Lite still take precedence over NextDNS requests?
