YouTube "Live" videos filtered out or not working

When using NextDNS, any Youtube video that is "live", is getting filtered out, or displays a message that says "This video is restricted. Please check the Google Workspace administrator and/or the network administrator restrictions".

What do I need to change to resolve this issue??

Confirmed this morning. Verified the filtering of all "Live" YouTube videos was occurring. "Live" videos from other platforms such as Facebook work fine.

I changed my DNS back to my previous DNS provider, and I do not have the issue where YouTube "Live" videos (and comments) are being filtered out.

I feel my NextDNS config is pretty basic, didn't really turn anything "on", or noted anything that should directly interfere with the filtering.

Discontinuing use of NextDNS for now, I'm about to breach the 300,000 query limit, and as much as I want to support NextDNS, I hesitate to start paying for a service that seems to have many issues yet to be resolved.

I'd still like to find out what this issue is though, so I can consider using the NextDNS service again.

I'd also like to see WAY more filtering groups, similar to what Cisco Umbrella (OpenDNS) offers. Again, I pay nothing for that service, yet I get much more granular filtering control. NextDNS seems to put topics in "blocks".

Carl Medley do you have youtube restricted mode enabled in the parental control tab?

Olivier Poitrey Oh of course I do! And I don't remember setting that myself. I'll deactivate that option and retest!

Confirmed that disabling this setting indeed works for many of the live youtube videos. But while this setting is enabled, I don't see any dns request being blocked in the logs. Is there something else happening behind the scenes?

PA it’s working with CNAME manipulation.
