Device list needs a cleanup feature

The same device kept getting added for each letter that i typed while i typed it, this results in device list clutter. A way to cleanup those devices would be nice.

my.nextdns.io - Settings - Logs - Retention period determines the time when the logs will be cleared by themselves or you can force it with "Clear logs".

To avoid this issue edit the DNS link in some text editor or even in browser address bar and paste the finished link of the DNS in the browser /app.

losnad I think you posted in the wrong topic, I didn't ask how to clear the logs.

      I'm sure I did not.

That's the way to clean up the devices name from the logs and analytics.

Mr White Clearing the logs is the quick way of removing old devices from the list. The slow way is to wait until they drop off, dependent upon your log retention period you’ve set.

There is no other way to remove old devices.

losnad That is the way to clean up the logs as well. I don't want to clean up the logs, I want to clean up the unused devices. So this thread is a feature suggestion, I want a way to cleanup the devices without cleaning up the logs I thought that was obvious, but now you are telling me that this doesn't need improvement because I can just clean up the logs which I knew all along.

R P M Again, I know clearing the logs would clear the devices. I don't want to do that. I just want to clear the device clutter. I know there is no other way, this is why I made this thread to bring attention to the issue. I didn't actually ask for help from other users.

Mr White Well sorry for trying to help.
It was not very clear at all this was a feature suggestion.

R P M To be honest I myself was not sure if this can be considered a feature so that is why I posted it in discussions. It sounds more like an actual feature itself(Device List) is incomplete, so I wanted to bring attention to that through a discussion.

Like imagine you are keeping logs for 2 years and 1 year down the line you accidentally mess up the device list and now you have 50+ device entries. What now dump the whole year of logs and hope it doesn't happen again?

I think the simplest way to improve this would be to add an expandable subcategory in the device list for example "Hidden" and then have button on every device that when clicked it moves the device into that subcategory and then when in subcategory the same button would take it out, in case you accidentally moved something into the subcategory.
