Allowlist entries

I am using next DNS on an Android phone and it's been working okay for me but it does block a lot which is not unexpected. And sometimes blocks Android apps. It blocks things and I just turn it off and then it works. I realize this is all intentional because there are some websites and apps that are written poorly and they're dependent on their trackers and they stall terribly if the trackers don't work.

It's inconvenient turning off the custom DNS to do something and then having to turn it back on later so I started looking at the allow list.

I allowed a few things and that seem to work okay

One thing that stopped me and I think it's because their programmers are in over their heads is the KFC application in the US. Looking at the logs it opens up numerous trackers and nonsensical stuff every time it loads. When it stalls I turn off next DNS and it loads perfectly and I can order from KFC.

I tried putting some of The trackers that were found in the logs when I try to use the KFC app on the allow list

I put three or four of them up there but I never got any better results so I don't really know what's going on. Heck it could be the app itself is dependent on something.

I suspect it's mostly just bad architecture because the programmers are in over their heads.  You should see all the nonsensical stuff you know like six trackers. Maybe more.

Most of the things I've had to let through next DNS have been simple, one little tracker that I just let through and then it works. It's usually quite simple but this KFC thing is just bad architecture and they're using so many functions and things that are loading separately from here and there it's just ridiculous. This is the USA KFC app.

Can anybody give me a little guidance as to what I should put in my allow list? Or how to tell what's causing it to stall?

Sorry I can’t give you any direct help with this as I’m not in the USA and can’t access US KFC app version.

I assume you are using the private/secure DNS option in android, how about trying the local vpn option with an app (NextDNS app or alternative*) or even just the NextDNS IPv4 addresses with linked IP.

      * RethinkDNS, Intra, Nebulo and personalDNSfilter are just a few of the ones available since official app was removed from play store.
