Linux Loses DNS After Hours
I am facing an issue with Debian installed under VMWare Workstation. I have NextDNS linux installed and configured against my profile. I have a pro subscription. What is happening is after initial Debian startup, network connectivity works with no issues. NextDNS linux install is working with no issues. After several hours, all DNS lookups then fail. I still have network access using IP addresses, but DNS fails each time.
So far the only fix is to reboot. I then lose working DNS after hours again.
Any solutions to this issue please?

I found another fix that works without requiring a reboot. Enter the following after su as root:
systemctl restart systemd-resolved.service-
The most likely reason for this issue is buggy VMWare Tools under Linux. This issue does not happen on my Debian Trixie server. It is not running under VMWare. Most likely VMWare Tools under linux gets no support or updates.

I opened a bug report, but this also very well could be a NextDNS Linux bug with the Linux tool. What I suspect is happening is that my IP address is changing, and the NextDNS Linux tool is not handling this change properly. https://my.nextdns.io/ clearly states that with their own apps installed, no IP address configuration is required. The Windows 11 NextDNS app handles this correctly. I suspect the Linux program is not.

Linking the changed IP address resulted in the same issue. This is a vm-tools-bug and not a NextDNS issue. The bug report does not require activity, and I will update the github issues link above.
