Dns over https host name error

So I'm new to nextdns. Trying to use it on my galaxy s26 ultra phone with latest system update. To make it easier I use nextdns manager app to sign up and create a new account. So I created new account and profile and received ID # and host name information to enter in phone private dns settings.

If try to enter dns over tls host name I have no problem when I tap save but if I enter dns over https host name I get an error when I tap save and there is no typo. Anything extra should be done in order to use dns over https?

Android Private DNS is only DoT, you can’t make it work with DoH string. You’d have to use alternative options to implement DoH on your device.

    Per android setup

    Private DNS

    Android 9 or higher

    1. Go to Settings → Network & internet → Advanced → Private DNS.

    2. Select the Private DNS provider hostname option.

    3. Enter <id>.dns.nextdns.io and hit Save.

Android doesn't take https:// you need to just put in <id>.dns.nextdns.io

      Dear NextDNS Support,

Thank you for your response regarding the Android Private DNS setup.

However, my issue is no longer related to Android configuration. The DNS setup is already correctly configured and working for other websites and services.

The specific problem is that the following site does not work when using NextDNS:

      https://eservice.waltonbd.com/

The site works normally when I disable NextDNS and switch back to my ISP DNS. This clearly indicates that the issue is related to how NextDNS validates or resolves the domain.

You mentioned that the domain may have an invalid or future-dated SOA serial / DNS configuration issue. If that is the case, I need a practical, user-friendly workaround from NextDNS rather than generic setup instructions.

Please provide a simple and proper solution for this domain specifically, such as:

      • How to allow or bypass this domain inside NextDNS

      • exact Allowlist configuration required

      • whether DNSSEC must be disabled

      • whether a rewrite or exception rule is needed

      • whether there is a recommended custom configuration for this domain

I am a paid NextDNS subscriber, and I need a usable solution to access this business-critical Walton service while continuing to use NextDNS protection.

Please provide clear step-by-step instructions specifically for:

      https://eservice.waltonbd.com/

instead of the general Android DNS setup documentation.

I would appreciate a proper technical resolution or workaround configuration.

      Best regards,

      Sazzad Kabir

With respect to what this thread is about, this does not include your solution. I provided a viable target solution located in your original thread. Please understand, I am not a paid nextDNS support person. This is a community forum, I just decided to take it upon myself to help suggest possible solutions.

Again, I've given you a permanent solution that you'll need to address with your web administrator for that domain.

      Thank you.

I already understood the meaning of “NextDNS Help Center” before applying. Your suggestion was unnecessary, as I did not ask for assistance or clarification.

Also, I would like to know your role here. Are you a community administrator or simply a regular user? Please maintain appropriate boundaries when responding to others.

      Thank you.
