Report IPv6 using DDNS
Hey guys,
new user here . I have a problem and I hope you can help me with this. So my router uses a DS lite tunnel to connect to the Internet and I don't have a dedicated IPv4. This one changes when I reconnect to the Internet.
Since I have to report my IP to NextDNS and I want my router to do this automatically, I wanted to use the DDNS feature with my dynamic domain. However, NextDNS only accepts IPv4 addresses and my router doesn't report these, so it can't update my A record, only the AAAA record of my domain.
Therefore, my question is: how can I use the DDNS feature with the IPv6 reported by my router?

If you use the IPv6 DNS addresses from your NextDNS profile setup, you do not need to link an IPv4 address for them to work.
As for DDNS, there are options to run an updater on a device connected to your network.

Actually, we can close this thread, I found my solution. Since I'm using DNS over TLS, I'm already reporting my ID to NextDNS, so I don't need DDNS and a dedicated IPv4 or something similar. My setup already works.
