NextDNS, iOS and Plex

Hello,

I have an issue accessing my Plex server remotely via the Plex iOS app when NextDNS is enabled on iOS. This issue occurs both via the NextDNS iOS app and via a NextDNS Apple configuration file and appears to be an issue related to the "plex.tv" domain.

Note - I have "plex.direct" and "plex.tv" in my Allowlist on my active NextDNS profile.

I have been troubleshooting this for a few days and have narrowed it down to "plex.tv" domain based on the below:

1) Plex iOS app with NextDNS iOS app disabled. Access to remote Plex server is fine

2) Plex iOS app with NextDNS iOS app enabled. Access to remote Plex server notes "Offline" in Plex iOS app

3) Plex iOS app with an Apple Configuration profile for NextDNS with no excluded domains. Access to remote Plex server notes "Offline" in Plex iOS app

4) Plex iOS app with an Apple Configuration profile for NextDNS with the domain "plex.tv" excluded. Access to remote Plex server is fine.

5) Plex iOS app with an Apple Configuration profile for NextDNS with the domain "plex.direct" excluded. Access to remote Plex server notes "Offline" in Plex iOS app

Based on this it appears there is something occurring with the "plex.tv" domain when NextDNS is active that is triggering the Plex app to report a remote server as "Offline". There are no blocks in my logs, and as I noted above "plex.tv" is already is my Allowlist.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is occurring?
