You can identify diferent devices (with diferent IP address) using DNS-Over-Https or DNS-Over-TLS.
Consult Setup Guide session on control panel (my.nextdns.io)

I have a solid use case for this. I have a Unifi USG with dual wan in failover mode.

I installed the DoH client from the wiki. It worked pretty great, until my internet failed over to the backup wan. The DoH client didn't failover, leading to an outage.

I looked high and low, but I don't think there's an easy solution to that issue. The best way too resolve it was for me to revert back to using an ip address, which meant 2 configurations manually synchronized, even though both are a single physical location.

David Meiser this should work. This is a scenario that has been tested many times with unifi platform. Do you have nextdns CLI logs when the failure happened?

I am using 2 WAN links in active failover/load balanced mode and it would be good to be able to add both links IP to the config.

It works fine when it goes into fail over mode but only 50/50 in load balanced mode due to round robin outward pathing for DNS queries.

    Using TP-Link Omada multi-WAN system

Leigh de Paor I'm in the same situation here. Dual WAN but balanced between the two so a device could switch ISPs at any time.
