NextDNS couldn't stop trackers ?

Hi all,

This is the first time of using NextDNS services.

I have multiple addons stop web tracking such as Kaspersky , Ghostery addons.

I'm just wondering why after using NextDNS I still get alerts from these addons about trackers.

I followed all installation steps and enable NextDNS but I just wonder why ?

All trackers should be blocked, but they are blocked at a different level. Ghostery and friends will catch them just before they perform DNS queries, so before NextDNS has a chance to block them. If you disable those tools, you should see even more trackers blocked by NextDNS. You can keep both, it's generally not a bad idea.

NextDNS only blocks ads & trackers at the dns level. For example, you can't block youtube ads at the dns level. Same thing applies to trackers

There's still ads & trackers beyond the dns level. Browser based add-ons can fill in some of those gaps and add extra features like hiding blocked ad elements
