NextDNS on Router and Windscribe

A while ago i decided to use the NextDNS service at router level for my home internet network. Instead of configuring every device for firewall and security, it made sense to install some protection at the router level. The router being used is a ZyXEL VMG8924 from UK broadband provider. Did not take long to configure the NextDNS service, the guides and setups were useful. Everything working fine.

Problem arises when i want to use my Windscribe VPN service. One of two things occurs, either the connection is intermittent or when connected, the internet does not work at all on the device and no websites can be searched. Right now, the only options i have are to either remove NextDNS to use the Windscribe VPN, or use my mobile hotspot.

Any proven solution to getting these both to work would be appreciated.

    Disabling the Block Bypass methods if on then using the client or private DNS on Windows/Android would override the VPNs DNS

      Hey Do you recommend it to use NextDNS DNS or VPN DNS?

      Because I understood that "Block Bypass Methods" help NextDNS to be overridden by VPN DNS.

      So now I am confused, especially that I activated this option on all my devices.

      Hey Not sure if this would be a permanent solution for a Home network. I spoke with Windscribe support and they informed me there is not much information on how to set up DNS-over-TLS or DNS-over-HTTPS with NextDNS with this router. Any insight or simple steps would appreciated.

      Does NextDNS have a help desk?
