It could be that your phone might be messing with the app, the easiest solution should be that if you have android 9+ use Private DNS in the settings as its built in the OS itself.

Hey it works with private dns. but when i use any devices on hotspot, it doesn't block the sites or the policy which i am using in device.

policy works on android device, not connected on hotspot..

Nac Clou It's probably that the device that's connected chooses the Carriers DNS service. You can use NextDNS on the devices that you connect.

Hey thanks for reply. but I am looking for android Hotspot dns resolution. as android device is using nextdns, so whoever connects to hotspot sites should be blocked, like porn category and many more.

If you have the PrivateDNS connection setting on your phone configured correctly - then it shouldn't matter what the hotspot uses for its DNS providers.

You can confirm by going into airplane mode - just connecting to hotspot - and see if your lookups are appearing in your PrivateDNS profile logs.

Then do the same by turning off WiFi and just connecting to mobile network.

It only wouldn't work if the hotspot is blocking DNS queries from the connected devices and only allowing DNS by using the hotspot - at which point - you are susceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks and shouldn't be using that hotspot.

Or if you have something else on your phone causing conflicts with your connection settings.
