Hardened Privacy? Brisbane, Australia versus Hong Kong

When I have NextDNS enabled it connects me to my closest server, which is Brisbane Australia. When I tick "hardened privacy" box it connects me to Hong Kong.

I know Australia does not have a great privacy regime and is part of 5 eyes, but really, ... Hong Kong is better?

Love to know thinking behind this.

    I thought they deprecated that option.

    I think the original idea was to change where logs were stored, not the location of the resolver.   Storing the logs outside of your home country would provide you some amount of  protection from law enforcement requests.

     I see an option to specify where to store logs, if that helps
