Google ads now showing iPad Pro m1 15.5

Google ads are now showing on my m1 ipad but only in Safari. Private relay is not on and I am running 15.5. Any ideas

Some more info I am running the cli version on a USG and it is happening on all devices using Safari

Hello, I am having similar issues Safari 15.5 (macOS 12.4). Ads appearing in Safari. Not appearing (as expected) in Chrome.

After some additional testing, Disabling the "Hide IP address" option in Safari | Settings | Privacy resolves the issue. It seems that this feature is actually leveraging Private Relay which I have disabled at the system level.

  Jared Fiststein it is a light version of private relay, only applied to ads/trackers, but then it does not block them.

Just thought I'd mention that I have no issues with iOS 15.5 and Private Relay enabled. Everything is still blocked and shows up in the NextDNS logs as before. I use the app/profile however, so this seems to be an issue with the CLI only.

IOS 15.5 Safari

Using NextDNS App

Issue: Ads on all other sites are blocked but NOT on google. So if I go to google and search for something, I do see ads.

browserleaks.com/dns shows only 1 DNS being used 216.230.232.29 which is NextDNS

Config:

Private Relay: Off

Safari: Hide IP from Trackers: off
