I've just tested with all the filters seen in the images and it still worked fine,

There could be an additional factor at play, but either way, I wouldn't use that many filters as 95+% of the domains likely overlap, you're just adding points of failure and making it harder to diagnose while gaining very little.

Hey How many lists should I use?

Lone Wolf This would be your choice but I personally use two, currently I use HaGeZi Pro with Fanboys Annoyance.

I use Fanboys Annoyance because it has a few domains that are used to show cookie notices, for me it's enough of an annoyance to use the filter but in the past I have been told that as the domain is blocked you're unable to save a more privacy focused cookie profile thus it results in the default being applied. So it's not something that everyone should turn on but it's something I personally use.

HaGeZi Pro for me works really well, false positives are extremely rare and when you report any FP's the dev is active on NextDNS forums so it's fixed extremely quickly.

I'd say just use HaGeZi Pro and you'll have a headache free experience. Having a single filter would also help tremendously with troubleshooting.

Hey I have 4 different configurations. I have switched to the lists in the screenshots attached.

Somehow they were attached twice, how do I go about deleting one copy?

Lone Wolf You could simplify them by using OISD for light as it's been around for a bit longer and therefore maybe has a few lesser known domains whitelisted that may cause issues on niche sites that aren't used often etc. You can use HaGeZi Pro for everyday use.

These are the filters that are recommended by their devs OISD Full for OISD (NextDNS uses the full one) and HaGeZi Pro for the HaGeZi family of filters. That way you would only need to manage two profiles but that's up to you.

I'm a minimalist and that's just my preference, either way you shouldn't have issues with the filters above as they include nearly every other filter and have solid whitelists and active devs to ensure stability and usability.

For the question about deleting images, I honestly don't know, editing the message should let you you delete attachments but don't know for sure.

Hey Would you mind sharing your configuration? I am also using AdGuard. Thanks! 👍

Edit: Which list is more aggressive between hBlock & HaGeZi - Multi PRO?

Lone Wolf Just saw your configuration video and you're likely facing issues because of TLD blocks that you're using, I saw some .co domains that were blocked by your TDL list that seem to be related to the weather site.

I use all the security features that NextDNS has and don't do anything else special other than a few whitelists and some tricks to bypass Anti-Adblockers to an extent.

I believe that things should just work so anything that may cause issues is not worth it.

So you don't block tld's at all? What block list do you use?

I figured out the weather video issue. Thanks

Lone Wolf Yeah in my opinion blocking TLDs do more harm than good for the average user.

For corporations it's completely normal to use as they don't want people accessing anything else but their work related sites, so even for .com they can block the entire TLD and allow Microsoft, Google and a few more domains that their workflow might need. So it's a useful feature but if you don't want to deal with issues because of them I wouldn't use the feature.

NRD/AI/Threat Intelligence DDNS Domains and more layers will likely block 99% of the threats that we can actually come across daily. They have very little to no FPs.

I used to have OISD and moved to HaHeZi Pro as it blocks more domains with little to no affect on usability, it's been rock solid and the more that is blocked without a compromise generally means less useless stuff for your browser to load and clutter in websites.

I'd say using all the NextDNS security features with HaGeZi Pro would give you a great experience that works really well with NextDNS's Philosophy, they want to be simple and be a service that just works.

HaGeZi's family of filters are also on the same goal, so they match perfectly and you can forget that your NextDNS configuration even exists, I usually only notice that I'm using NextDNS when I turn off Private DNS for some reason and realize that most of the web is filled with annoyances.
