Change ip or bypass geo restrictions

Hello friend .... I have a problem, please help me if you can

  Last year I had purchased a service that could bypass geo-restriction of websites by changing my device's "DNS". !!! Yeah After I changed the dns of my phone, the websites I visited thought that I am from another country (Turkey)!(but i live at other country)

 Do you know how it was done?what was that method?
