Query quota did not reset upon subscription cancellation and all queries are now being counted towards quota instead of only blocked queries

Hello, I am writing this in complaint of what I see as an issue that should be addressed or at the very least clarified upon. Thank you in advance! 

Context:

Over the course of the summer (July) I had reached my free query quota, I noticed during this time that all queries handled through the service are now being counted towards the free quota limit. This was not the case prior to… I’d say.. about May of this year for as far as I’m aware and I did not receive any notice about this change via email. Before this the service would only count blocked queries, evident by the fact my account would usually make upwards of 350K queries a month with blocked queries equating to approximately <20% of that (per profile). Never once have I reached the limit prior to this. I decided that I didn’t want to wait till the next month to regain service access so I decided to pay for the service for just one month (July 17th), after my subscription ended on Sept 17th, the quota did not reset. It remained at what it was prior to subscribing — not what I expected. I didn’t see anything about this listed anywhere… It would be much appreciated if I could receive some clarification on whether this is all intended and of so, why there is no information about it listed.

Account Setup:

2 Profiles - “Main”, and “Child”

“Main” is the primary profile (most activity) - enabled on 3 devices, set up for privacy and security most options are enabled and blocklists are selected

Second is a child profile - enabled on two devices and only used for parental control no privacy, security, or performance options enabled

    All queries count, not just blocked ones.    The count starts at the first of the month.   Maybe you can ask for a refund on your free account or pay $20/year

       Huh? Why would the service be counting queries that aren’t being handled, towards the quota? All it’s doing is logging that a query was made, it’s not doing anything else with it.

       Here’s what I’m currently seeing. Across 2 profiles, I have a total of 56K+ queries made based on the analytics tabs, but the quota is only showing 27K, why is that? It appears to be extremely inconsistent.

       They actually do some deduplication for you.   If you do a single query, it can return more than one result.   For example, for typical query you might get both an A record and a AAAA record.   They will deduplicate it and count it as one.   Other types of queries could return even more records, such as an MX or CNAME record having doing the first resolution, followed by A and AAAA records.  I'm not 100% sure on the details, but it works in your favor.   The count shown under your account name is the official count for your quota.   That would be different than "the last 30 days" because the quota is reset on the 1st of the month.   

      I think the 300K quota for a free account is so users can get a feel for how the system works with no feature limitations..   I don't think their intention is for people to use multiple accounts to get around the quota.  The annual price of $20 is a bargain if you ask me and supports a great service.
