DoH setup on Mac question - where does DoH server name go?
I turned on the DoH setting on my router and am unclear where on my Mac I need to insert the "https://dns.nextdns.io/xxxxxx/device-name" in order to achieve logs and statistics by device in the nextDNS dashboard. Does this go into the Mac's wifi settings somewhere? Any help is appreciated.

Download your profile from apple.nextdns.io, there you can enter your device name. Follow the steps in that page.

Your router should have a setting that can report device names for you. I didn't need to configure much else besides that. Installing a config profile would probably be the most headache free setup though. Just make sure you named your device before saving and installing that config profile.

Thanks @martheen and @evangelionx1!
This helped. I thought I could add the DoH info somewhere manually on my macOS/iOS devices but installing the configuration profile worked. In a first attempt I must have added an incorrect device name and logs did not filter out the traffic by device but @evangelionx1's suggestion to look up the device names at the router helped to resolve that. Thanks again!
