Closer Geographical DNS Servers

Many of the popular DNS services such as Google, CloudFlare, OpenDNS, will detect your location and choose a closer DNS server for faster speeds. I setup my NextDNS (I live in Dubai) and when checking on the DNSLeaktest website, it shows that my DNS server is in Japan.

I wish NextDNS had more local servers or closer ones. Do you have plans to have a DNS server in Dubai or the Gulf region?

There are servers in the gulf region, as far as I know, in Saudi Arabia and even in Dubai.

Read the Knowledge Base and use the search function.

You can add to «Allowlist» from logs if it's blocked. If you use only a few good Blocklists you will not have to add too many domains to the «Allowlist» in the first place. A good setup should work most of the time without the need to keep messing around with it.

Thanks, I was able to fix this by adding the HTTP address of my DNS Server in Chrome and Edge, now it shows a Dubai Server when I do a DNS leaktest: ANEXIA Internetdienstleistungs GmbH    United Arab Emirates, Dubai
