How to prevent kids bypassing with another VPN?
Hi there, I set up NextDNS on the home router but it only took a few days for the kids to figure out how to install VNPify on their MacBook... and bypass the NextDNS VPN.
Thoughts on how to prevent this? The parental control tab does have the bypass function toggled on but it doesn't work.

You can't prevent that.

Find the way to restrict the (types of the) apps that can be installed in their MacBook. There should be some Parental control feature provided by Apple itself. Either in the account settings, or by setting up a dedicated limited account for kids on the MacBook instead of your personal (unrestricted) account.

the HaGeZi list could help, by blocking every access to the VPN provider. But since NextDNS doesn’t allow custom blocklist… Maybe having them look into it. (They will have to remove 5 line - yes nextDNS are in that list because they are a dns)

To prevent kids from bypassing parental controls with another VPN, use robust parental control software, restrict app installation by locking app store access, and set strong passwords and standard user spacebar counter accounts on devices. You can also block known VPN domains or IP addresses at the router level. some tools like Google Family Link, Apple Screen Time, or third-party apps like Qustodio, Norton Family, or Net Nanny can: Block the installation of VPN apps. Restrict app store access. Alert you to new apps being installed.
