Setting up NextDNS on AWS EC2

Hello - we are currently trying to setup a proxy server on EC2 (AWS) so that we can resolve Handshake domains. When I try the

systemd-resolved

option, we are getting the following for all 4 DNS entries.

Failed to add DNS server address '2a07:a8c1::#<configid>.dns2.nextdns.io', ignoring: Invalid argument

Furthermore, we are also getting

/etc/systemd/resolved.conf:20: Unknown lvalue 'DNSOverTLS' in section 'Resolve'

Any help with this would be appreciated. Note that we got the configid on a browser using a local machine but set it up on the EC2 instance, and we didn't "link ip" so wondering if those have anything to do with it.

What version of systemd are you using?
