Unidentified devices problem

I use Nextdns on one laptop and two mobile phones and on all of them I installed NextDNS apps & enabled settings of (Send Device Name) yet when I check Nextdns logs I see all of these 3 devices plus another entry named (Unidentified devices) with no logs and I can’t figure out what are these unidentified devices or why they appear on Nextdns logs so does any of you have same problem or know how I can solve it please ?

Unidentified is just there for any device connecting via the plain IP addresses (i.e. UDP). But since all your devices are connecting by app and identifying themselves, there won’t be any logs for “unidentified” devices.

So, there’s no issue here. It is expected behaviour.

R P M thank you for your reply, when I checked the traffic destination map in my Nextdns profile, I found that these queries always came from my Samsung galaxy phone when connected to the local mobile internet network & going to this address (android.probe-test.dns.nextdns.io) in my country Egypt but I do not know what does this address from Nextdns suppose to do or why my Samsung phone tried to reach it ?!

Tarek I’m afraid I don’t know what that address is for but as a guess it could be to test connectivity to the local DNS.

It’s probably nothing to worry about though. Maybe someone else knows about the address?

R P M I appreciate your help, thank you so much and as you said as long as these queries are only for Nextdns servers then they are safe.
