ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

I am receiving this error message when trying to access some websites on an Android phone connected via my network through nextDNS.  However, I am able to access these websites when I turn off connection to my network through nextDNS and instead connect using my internet service provider.  How do I fix this problem?  Is there a setting in nextDNS that needs to be changed?  Thanks.

That is most likely because NextDNS is filtering those domains and hostnames. You'd need to login to your account, view the logs, and see which hostnames were blocked. If you put your mouse over the blocked log entry, it will display an explanation why it was blocked, such as the list name it was on that was activated, or relevant security or privacy setting.

You can then unblock them by adding the hostname to your allowed list, or by modifying your settings under Security, Privacy, and Parental control.

Thank you for the explanation and and potential solution.  I will turn logging on and then try accessing the sites so I see them in the logs.  I will then add them to my allowed list.

BTW, you mentioned I can  modify settings under Security, Privacy, and Parental control.  Which settings should I modify to stop this from happening going forward?

    Thanks again.

Look at the logs. If something is filtered / blocked, there will be a red icon next to the hostname that was blocked. Hover over it and then an explanation will show up for why it was blocked.
