Changes to available lists on Github

Just noticed several of the lists that NextDNS used have been moved from their previous locations in giuthub.

Once upon a time we were able to view the contenst of the lists , but now several just have "internalized" for their locations amd I am unable to see which domains are in the lists.

https://github.com/nextdns/metadata
"parentalcontrol/categories/video-streaming → internalized"

Where can I find the breakdown of the lists currently used by NextDNS?

Any suggestions?

I know for sure that Porn list became a part of the AI mechanism from earlier threads and I'd guess it's likely that they're also moving in the same direction with the other internalized filters.

So that'd be the likely reason behind the internalized status as they wouldn't be static filters anymore.

Hey Threat intelligence feeds(also internalized now) mean NextDNS would be using several blocklists from different sources. The ones which were open source and publicly accessible were listed in Github by NextDNS. The whole mechanism of blocking domains of all categories cannot to left to AI alone. That would be dangerous. No cybersecurity software ever does that. So, why suddenly NextDNS made its lists 'internalized' must have some different reason for sure.

Sohan Ray My suggestions wasn't that they were purely using AI, it was simply that the filters that are moving to AI seemed to be internalized.

The filters would likely be fed to the AI they most likely wouldn't be sharing much of their Threat Intelligence and other filters where there could be agreement in place.

Hey Does that mean we cannot in any way see which lists are used, or the contents of the lists?

Hey If they are still using open source free blocklists as before, then whether they are being fed to AI or not, it could still be shared on Github as before. But they probably have different reason or maybe they are now using such lists which cannot be shared in public....
