    Any lookup of a DNS record, could be IPv4, IPv6, MX, NS, TXT and so on. Those can all be counted as a query.

        i just wanted to know what a query was because the free version gets 300,000 queries.

      OK, understood.

      There are some de-duplications that occur for account totals. So if there are (IPv4, IPv6 and HTTPS for instance) lookups all about the same time, they all count as a single query on the account.
