Laptop not using correct profile?

I need a little help since I'm fairly new to custom DNS and am a little confused.

I have a few profiles in NextDNS for different purposes. Like my phone and laptop on one, one for my daughter's iPad, one for our router, and so on. Here's my problem:

At home, when on WiFi, I would assume the router (Profile #1) takes over for DNS and my laptop and phone use that (they're on Profile #2). However, my phone says in NextDNS that it's still using Profile #2 and my laptop Profile #1. That's odd?!

What am I misunderstanding or misconfiguring? When looking at the system profile on my laptop, it has the correct ID to match Profile #2 (like my phone).

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

How have you set up NextDNS on each of your devices?

If you want to use your router setup while at home, you will have to exclude the WiFi from whatever process you used to setup NextDNS on the devices.

R P M Yes, setup on each device, but I didn't want the router to take over from the laptop if possible. And as I just found out—the profile doesn't work on the laptop after being generation on NextDNS and installed correctly.

Oh... Okay, so I just learned why. The apple.nextdns.io profile creator—it doesn't work on macOS 13.3 at least here. I manually added the DNS addresses to the WiFi network and now it works.
