any possible security/privacy concern when using with Private relay ?

Hello.

Currently I am using NextDNS via app with private relay on Mac and wondering if there would be any possible security/privacy concern when using with private relay ?

https://help.nextdns.io/t/p8hkfyw mentioned how those work together.

my question is  making duplicate DNS request/blocking domain via NextDNS will generate any security/privacy hole like ISP is able to see sites I visit and so on ? I know that my all DNS requests should be encrypted but curious if ISP will see IP address from DNS response  from NextDNS

Will this make any issue which private relay without NextDNS will NOT make ?

Thanks

It’s fine. PrivateRelay even provide you the best privacy you can get

As he stated it's fine, NextDNS uses DoH / DNS Over HTTPS on iPhones so your DNS is encrypted, Private Relay is just a HTTP Proxy that's a bit more flashy it uses ODoH protocol made by them and Cloudflare. It's the same encryption but it also changes your IP outside of Apples internal network.

Logically speaking, there shouldn't be two DNSes but it's Apple and they do as they please and they haven't prioritized fixing their problem.

So, again as DynamicNotSlow said you're just fine and it doesn't reduce your privacy in any way, your DNS queries are sent to NextDNS but if you didn't turst them you wouldn't be here in the first place.

They are one of the most transparent companies so, I'm also here because I trust them with their words on privacy.

Hey Thanks for the info. of course I trust NextDNS and I am just worried when making DNS request to NextDNS while using Private relay, NextDNS will send IP address for the DNS request to user or just do block/not block website ?
