This device is not using NextDNS

I've installed on UDM SE, it worked fine but then it stopped working and instead of saying im connected to NextDNS now it says: 
This device is not using NextDNS
This device is currently using ”HostRoyale Technologies Pvt Ltd” as DNS resolver.
Only thing ive changed was storing the logs on Switzerland and not in the US and switching to linked IP(these are the only things I can think of that changed). 
If it makes a difference, I am using a vpn which changes the ip every now and then. 

the Logs do record activity but why does it say that its not using NextDNS? 

Results in test/NextDNS.io give this:

Edit:
I've made a new NextDNS account, tested with and without my ProtonVPN on, looks like the problem is with the VPN being on. (I tried before and it worked fine). 
Any way around it? I want to be able to use a VPN(running on each client) as well as a NextDNS(running on the UDM SE).
