Allow all logs

I'm planning to have my configuration set to by default block all TLDs and whitelist a handful of sites and only be able to access those. Since I use a lot of sites, and I don't want any interference, I used the device that is connected to my profile for about an hour or two, making sure to open all the sites and apps that I regularly use, and use all the features therein, in order to find what to put on the allowlist.

Now there are thousands of domains on the log, and I can't find the "allow all" button. How do I highlight every log made on a particular device and put them all on the allowlist? It would be a pain to go through every domain one by one -- I might actually go insane.

I too have blocked nearly all TLDs and have allowed just the few that i actually use.   I get where you're coming from.

There's not a way to "select all" logs and mass add them to your allow list.    The good news is I believe that would be a bad idea anyway.

I don't know what your handful of favorite sites are, but I can practically guarantee they're loaded with junk you don't want.  NextDNS, paired with the right configuration, is great for quietly removing the junk.    If you were to bulk add everything in your logs to your allow list, you would be defeating the purpose of NextDNS.

There are several posts on this community forum that outline a good starting configuration.

The two lists that are often mentioned are OISD and Hagezi.   Hagezi has a several different lists with different levels of blocking ranging from low aggression to high aggression.

Here are three fantastic resources for further information.   They do reference each other and are complementary.

It may be overwhelming at first, but you'll get the hang of it.   The bottom line is there's overly simple solution that's going to magically work.

    Good luck.

I get what you’re saying, but my use case calls for an extreme selectivity; I can afford no chance of a domain that has even the mere possibility of negatively affecting my devices.

Ultimately, I just used CTRL+A CTRL+C to copy the contents of the entire Logs page, used a Python script to filter out all the extraneous information, and then put the domain list into the allowlist. Of course, NextDNS can only take in one domain at a time, so it took about all night to process all of them, but I’m satisfied with the results.

Interesting.  How well is tracking and ad blocking working?  I’m guessing you added many hosts that should be blocked to your allow list
