Sub-Profiles/Paranoia settings for Quickly switching settings using a widget on mobile
Hi,
I’d like to suggest a feature that could significantly enhance the flexibility and usability of NextDNS on mobile phones. The idea is to allow users to create multiple configurations or "sub-profiles" or "paranoia settings" within a single profile, enabling quick switching between different DNS settings on the same device.
Imagine being able to quickly switch off network access for most apps while keeping it on for a few essential ones. This could be useful in scenarios like:
- Connecting to public Wi-Fi with tighter security settings, allowing only the app or apps you need at that moment for extra security.
- Activating a "Do Not Disturb" mode where only specific apps stay online, so you can have an airplane mode but still use all apps you want.
- Temporarily disabling all or almost all filtering without fully reconfiguring the DNS or altering the active profile.
- Saving data and/or power by switching off all data connections to apps you don't need at the moment.
So the request would be:
- The ability to create sub-profiles / paranoia settings within a profile that store different settings configurations.
- An Android widget to easily switch between these sub-profiles or paranoia settings on the fly, adapting to different environments and needs instantly.
This feature could also address the frequently requested ability to quickly disable NextDNS temporarily without disrupting the entire setup.
Thanks for considering this!
