NextDNS selects LAX as closest server

I live in london, i get 2ms ping to the nextdns london server, but on all my devices nextdns still picks los angeles which is 140ms away as the closest server. this results in dns lookups being a bit slower. anyone can fix?

The same thing happens on Windows 11 using the official nextdns app.

Looks like your IP used to be in the US. It must be part of a new IP block recently bought by Community Fibre and it hasn’t been updated for location info as of yet.

Either wait for NextDNS to add a fix or you could contact the ISP directly, maybe they can put you on a different IP block. Being on your current IP you may see other services complain about not being in the UK.

When NextDNS selects LAX (Los Angeles) as the closest server, it means that the DNS resolver has determined LAX to be the optimal server location based on various factors such as network latency,  internet and cable bundles geographical proximity, and server availability. By choosing the closest server, NextDNS aims to provide users with faster response times and improved performance for their DNS queries, enhancing their browsing experience.
